Aviary!!

24 Apr 2009

Hidey Ho!

Aviary Tag

Aviary has arrived and it is DEE-LISH!  I almost don't want to sell it and keep it all for myself,  but, a gal's gotta eat.

Aviary is inspired by vintage prints and field study engravings from a time when the world outside was shared through drawing rather than photographs. Full of detail and texture in a supple palette of pinks, greens, aquas and cream, this refreshing collection is elgant and sophisticated. Classic florals and masterfully crafted paislies make this a collection that exemplifies beauty by anyone’s terms.

I'm Outta Here

29 Mar 2009

Hey folks, just a head's up...I'm going out of town on Sunday and I'll be back on Friday.  My hot hubby, Mark, will be processing all orders.  You'll probably like him much better than me.  He likes to give away free stuff.  You'll know what I mean if you've ever been to one of our garage sales.

Happy quilting!

Creativity Gene

I think I passed on my creativity gene to my son, Anthony.  Check out this hat he made all by himself.  Out of duct tape.  I'm so proud.

Reardan Football Stars

18 Mar 2009

Hey, check out this quilt I made to donate to the Reardan High School booster club auction.  Although I live in Spokane, WA, our home is located in the Reardan school district, so that's where my 6th grader goes to school.

Reardan

Anyway, I was asked to make a quilt for this year's auction in support of the varsity football team.  There are 34 players and 4 coaches.  The 34 stars in the body of the quilt are for each player and the 4 stars in the corner are for each coach.  The "R" in the center is an actual varsity letter that the football coach let me have.  The school colors are maroon and gray.

I used a pattern from the Buggy Barn Star Crossing book (which we sell).

And did you know The Buggy Barn quilt shop is in Reardan?!  So it sort of all ties together.  I only hope the quilt sells for what it's worth.

Japanese Fan

17 Mar 2009

Here's a quilt I made for a class I took at Pacific Crescent Quilting. It's from a Judy Neimeyer pattern called Japanese Fan.  Now, I'll be the first to tell you...I am not into Asian fabrics.  I have nothing against it, it's just not my thing (Although I did buy a jelly roll of Asian fabric at the quilt show last October...).

Anywho, I decided to use American florals instead of the Asian fabric. Talk about chic!  That's the beauty of quilting.  There are no rules!
